I have never had a more terrible TA than Jennifer. She creates her own guidelines and docks marks for no apparent reason. If you ask for feedback, she can’t justify why she docs marks. She doesn’t respond to emails (if she does, she’s rude) and has no respect for other people at all.

Natalie is very kind and knows everything there is to know about psych but she is a brutal marker. She takes a long time to grade essays and tests because she is extremely nitpicky and will check every little detail. Office hours were basically useless because she speaks only in psych-talk and not regular-person talk.

Knowledgable and nice person, but you do not want to be on the receiving end of his grading pen. He grades tests extremely strictly even if the class average ends up being under 50%. He is helpful if you talk to him in office hours but often not relevant to the midterm or exam.

Marked brutally on the peer reviews. He had some sort of hidden rubric which was never given to us beforehand because apparently it was decided after-the-fact. Not to mention, the rubric was extremely unreasonable, which I tried to explain but I was blatantly ignored. The way it was set up was based on effort, but I had put in more than double the effort and barely got higher than someone doing the bare minimum.

Takes an eternity to mark the essays. He takes a long time because he's extremely nitpicky, checking every little detail. Lost marks on APA formatting because I didn't put the page number range, and the reason I didn't was because it was one of those journals that doesn't tell you the page numbers. I lost marks for not using subheadings, when nowhere in the rubric, nor the prof's instructions was there mention of subheadings.

Really tough marker, would dock marks left and right, and when you went to ask for feedback on why you lost so many marks she would list 120985390 other reasons why you deserve to lose marks. Was often unreliable with answering emails. For my final essay, I had some questions about it, she never responded to the email, then she docked the marks on the stuff I had asked about.

I also had her for a 3rd year psych course (Evolutionary Psych 3228) but as a prof and she would always take the time to give you feedback on your responses if you asked for it and always answered questions you had about quizzes/exams.
